The wood treatment is evident though not really invasive on the spicy aromas of plum, red currant and dark cherry that are trimmed in earth and discreet forest floor hints. There is fine volume to the delicious and refined flavors that display a light minerality on the mildly austere and warm finish that exhibits excellent depth though the drying finish is somewhat clipped as the tannins seem angular and less than completely ripe. To be sure this is not without interest and in particular in terms of complexity but the hail has definitely had an impact here.
